...Baby Brunch...

I have some AMAZING friends... Seriously... I do!  Jaime and Violet got some of my favorite gals together at Mimi's to shower me with some girl time and some much needed diapers!  I was so blessed by everyone who came and had a great time giggling and chatting with the ladies!  There were def. some people that were missed...but I know they were there in heart! <3

...Vree...

Wow. I am the mother of a 3 year old! What?! When did this happen? It's going by way too fast... WAY too fast. It seems like only yesterday that I was bringing my first baby home from the hospital... and now... I'm getting ready to bring home my THIRD! Just. Wow.

Jude's birthday this year happened to fall on Mother's Day... and can I just say- best.mother's.day.gift.ever. ?! ;)  It was a pretty great day... if I say so myself!  It started off with a great morning at home... followed by attempting to make it to church on time... hmmm- didn't really happen... BUT we did manage to make it in time for.... LUNCH!  Haha.  The three of us picked up daddy from church and headed to Hayashi for some yummy teppanyaki.  It's always so fun to take the kids there... mostly b/c they eat SO well... but also b/c it's hilarious to watch their reactions to the "show".  Jude's not so much a fan of the "fireworks"- as he calls it!  My kids are usually REALLY good at restaurants...and thankfully...today was no different.  As a matter of fact... a lady sitting at the teppan table next to us was SO impressed with Jude that she gave him a $15 Target giftcard that she had in her purse from Mother's Day (when she found out it was his birthday!)!!!!  It was very random...slightly uncomfortable...but so generous and sweet!  :)  So proud of that boy!

After lunch... we headed home for naps...and then turned around and went back to church!  ...but...again- I didn't end up actually IN the service!  Instead- Derrick and I hung out in the lobby!  I know- totally sadtimes!  But it ended up being a fantastic day... I can't believe my baby boy is three- or as Jude says "Vree!".  It literally has flown by and seems like only yesterday that I was bringing home my first baby...and now I'm about to have my third child!  ::crazytimes::

Birthday Parrrrrrrty
So...I had planned on throwing Jude a Toy Story party this year after I had found some really cool ideas for the cupcakes and other fun TS related stuff... but as I was planning, Jude informed me that he wanted a pirate party.  What?!  Yup.  So I quickly stopped planning a TS party... and began searching for all things pirate.  Ugh!  There were so many decisions I had to make...Peter Pan themed?  Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed?  or just pirates?  I ended up going w/ a plain pirate theme...and after weeks of looking on etsy for ideas...and going to Hobby Lobby/Party City about a zillion times- the day of the party was finally here.  It was Jude's first "friend" party...and I guess all in all it was a success... but let me tell you... I LOVE planning/crafting the party... but I do NOT love hosting it!  I swear it's so stressful trying to decide when things should happen...and getting the rhythm of a party rollin!  Oy!  After the party was all said and done- I informed Jude that he would not be having another party until he was 10... and then I can just take him and a couple friends to the movies!  buahah!  kidding- kidding!

Enjoy the pix:

These were the cupcakes that I made... spent WAY too much money on gold sprinkles... but I HAD to have everything match my color theme!  Had a TON of food... especially b/c DLo ordered too many pizzas...like 6 pizzas too many (we ordered 7 total!)

Had a lot of fun friends come to the party!

The kids enjoyed the playset...it was nice seeing it get some good use!  And of course...the boys found the battery-less truck...that Jude pushed around!  Oh my!  (The other kids found the apples on the apple tree...)

Got these AWESOME shirts for Jude and Emme... LOVE how they turned out.  As you can see... Jude had a lot of fun opening his gifts... and the party favors seemed to be a hit too!

...easter...

Oh man... I'm really behind on blogging this... but.....EASTER! What a nice time we had... our last as a family of 4!

We went to the Logan Family 4th Annual Easter picnic at the park. It's always so fun to get together with all of Derrick's family... and all of the inlaws inlaws! If only my parents weren't so anti-social- the ENTIRE family would be complete! But I digress. The park this year was a little stressful... there were alot of other people there participating in their own Easter celebration... and there seemed to be kids EVERYWHERE. And... I guess... we are responsible for alot of that- seeing as our family has grown from 0 grandkids... to 7 grandkids... and 6 cousins! Oh my!

Jude had fun playing on the playground...and chasing random people around with his water gun! He even managed to mingle with the other crowd of people...spraying some poor lil baby that was on the swing (eeeeep- ooops!)... Emme had been super sick and was Little Miss Anti-Social.... it was pretty sad! But thankfully Mema kept her company!

The egghunt was kind of a flog- as far as Jdub is concerned... homeslice got bored after finding 3 eggs! LOL! FAIL! And Emme's still a little young... so we just "shared" eggs with her! Overall- it was a pretty cool time as a family... yummy foods... flying kites... a little bball... playing in the sand... being "too tired" for the slide... and trying to get a picture of ALL the grand/greatgrand kids... Oh my! :)

Went to church early on Easter Sunday... and spent the afternoon at my parents house. We decorated some eggs and then had some fun playing outside on our new playset. Jude wasn't so much interested in helping put stickers on the eggs... perhaps next year he'll be old enough... or maybe Emme and 3.0 will be more into it! ::sigh:: Egg hunting was a flop again today... but Emme had a fun time with Papa's help! <3

Daily Funnies

So... I've got to say... I absolutely love this stage that we're in! Emme is learning and growing so much... and Jude cracks me up on a daily basis! He is talking alot more, although there are still many times that momma is the ONLY person that understands what he's saying!!! LOL. Jude turns 3 tomorrow... and I'm going to research speech therapy for him... just for some added help... but I have seen a TON of improvement in him the last couple of months! It's really fun times when your child finally gets to the place where they can communicate with you! I mean... for starters- a lot of the tantrums and whining stops b/c you're finally able to understand their wants and needs... but also b/c it's just comedy to hear the things that come out of their mouths!!!

Some of the daily funnies we hear from Jude are:

"Emme! No Sir!"
"You wanna peet (piece) of me?!"
"Jude, do you need to go peepee?" -"No...I mean, yeah!"
"Jude, who is this singing?" -"Warfare" (when listening to John Mayer)
"Jude go nienight then go Papa/Hanni's house! Oh yea!"
"Jude go nienight in Jude's bed... mom and dad go nienight in mom's bed" (it's his OCD phrase- he says it EVERY night as we are shutting his door for bed)
"Mom fix the choochoo train crack (track)"
"I wanna grive (drive)..."
"Daddy go work play guitar?"
"Daddy go get food?"
"No, Jude's too ti-yed (tired)" (when asked to do or eat or say ANYthing he doesn't want to do)
***for example***
"Jude, go down the slide!" -"No, Jude too ti-yed... Jude ti-yed slide!"
"I wanna _______, too" (I'm loving that he knows how to use "too"... "Jude wanna grink (drink) that too" or "Jude wanna watch tv too")
"Sun awake, momma?" (he is obsessed with day and night...he especially asks this as the sun is just setting and it's half day/half night)
"I afraid of the baby bug! At Papa/Hanni's house!" (he calls ALL bugs babybugs... and they are ALWAYS at Papa/Hanni's house b/c one day a bug flew on his arm when he was playing and apparently he FLIPPED out... so sorry I missed it!)

He knows that Deh-yeck (Derrick) or DYo (DLo) is daddy... and that Keeeh (Kim) is mommy... LOL... and anytime I call out for DLo!... he always has to yell it out too... DYO!

and anytime I'm on the phone...he tries to guess who I'm talking to...
"You talk daddy, momma?" "You talk Hanni?" (which he ALWAYS knows if I'm speaking in Korean) "You talk Jayjay (Jaime)?" (and this is usually followed by- "I wanna SEE Jayjay and YeaYea (Zoe)!")

He's just so sweet...and hilarious!

Emme is talking a TON more than Jude did at 15months... she is obsessed with saying:
*shoes (especially if I'm changing her into her clothes for the day- Come on mom! Let's go somewhere!)
*bark bark bark
*that! or this? (which I love b/c Jude said this alot too)
*more?!
*all done
*hiiiiiiiiiiiiYA!
*Maaaaaaaama! (she used to only say Dada, and NOT momma... but now mom and dad are both momma! which is sweet and funny when DLo comes home and she excitedly toddles over to him yelling Maaaaaaaama! (the Maaa is always drawn out w/ a short ma at the end... so cute!)

and she communicates really well by nodding or shaking her head if we ask her yes/no questions! Love it!
