...bottles and cans...

...just clap your hands! DCB anyone? anyone? anyone? Hmmm. NM then! :D

So. I was cleaning Jude's bottles this morning... and it dawned on me. He won't be drinking formula anymore in a little over a month! I won't need to buy (or have my mom buy, rather) formula anymore! ::tears:: What?! My baby boy is growing up into a big boy!!! ::WAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!:: My heart is hurting just a wee bit.... why does time fly when you DON'T want it to?

...HISMFSB part4...

::sigh:: It's Monday. Which means my friends are back to work. How depressing for all of us! I had a great week w/ my gals! But the entire week was building towards Sat. night... our Twilight DVD Premiere party!!! (I know, I know...whatev!) Personally- I think we hyped the party up more than it actually ended up being... but it was still fun! I enjoyed spending time w/ my girlfriends and getting all sparkled up! It was also great to watch- and laugh- at the hilarity that is the movie! (I even enjoyed watching the DVD commentary w/ Linds the next day!) Here are some pictures of our night:

**Sidenote: I had written this blog a week ago... and realized that I never POSTED it! Duh, Kim!**

...HISMFSB part3...

Girls night. Gotta love them...especially if you've got great girlfriends! It's a tradition (I'm sure I've blogged about it before)... for Les, Jaime, Tiff, and I to go to Oregano's to celebrate our bdays.... Tiffany has moved to Oregon- but is in town...so we went to celebrate her coming back- and a belated bday for me! We always go to the same Oregano's and ALWAYS order the same thing: Oregano's Favorite Salad, Pizza (1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 veggie), Baked Ziti, and -of course- Pizza Cookies!!!! I LOVE going to Oregano's w/ these girls... it's a time for fun stories...great food...and awesome company!

Highlights:
Brody telling Les to "pull ober da car mom..." b/c Matti was being mean... Salty Senorita... Friendship bracelets- that may or maynot break... the overly bubbly Oregano's workers- seriously- I would be fired 2mins in b/c I could NEVER be that peppy... big tables- it's about darn time they gave us enough room!... "the razor" incident- or- what should have been an incident, but wasn't b/c the cap was still on... that one pretty much tops EVERYTHING!

...Happy Anniversary Shout Outs...

Happy Anniversary to:

Love and Eddie- 2 years today...
Jaime and Jonathan- 5 years today...
Mom and Dad- 30 years yesterday!!!

So- it was my parents anniversary yesterday...and what did I get them? Well...they got ME and Jude dinner! Is that sad or what?! I promise I'll do something wicked cool for their 50th! (Which would make my dad 89 years old- sad.) Anywho. Jude got his first meal off the Kids Menu too.... not on purpose... I just asked for a lil plate of grilled chicken for him... didn't know it was going to come w/ soup, spaghetti and broccoli! What in the world?! But. In true fatkid fashion... Jude at ALL the beans and noodles out of his Pasta e fagoli and ate 1/2 his chicken and broccoli! Go son!!! lol. My parents were tickled watching him! It was pretty comical! (Why is Jude biting my foot right now?!)

...HISMFSB part2...

So. I am starting to get depressed. Today is Friday....the last day my friends are on Spring Break... what will I do when they go back to work?! How will I occupy my time?! Well... I think Jude and I will continue going to Westgate... and perhaps we'll connect with some more SAHM's... but.... I shall miss calling my gf's and randomly dropping in on their family time!... which is what I did on Thursday! I bombarded the Schmadeke's Family Westgate Picnic... Jude and I had fun eating cantaloupe and watching everyone have fun... Jude was STILL afraid of the fountains- although, he at least attempted to touch the water on his own! Then we had some delicious Cold Stone before heading home!

Some highlights: $5 Westgate coupons-that apparently my son is not cute enough to score for mom... Spiderman towels... Dirty cantaloupes... SPF50... "What if I'm not the hero"... Superb Coldstone employees... Fragile cones... the Heath Bar/Kit Kat debacle... the strange lady who believed Jonathan when he said that Jude was for sale... the Fly... Goodtimes...

...How I Spent my Friends' Spring Break...

Ha. b/c for me... spring break is EVERY
3day
3...0..0.

233333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333

That was supposed to say EVERYday... but then Jude took over the computer. Nice. He apparently loves the number 3. (Could it be b/c he's the size of a 3 year old?! Hmmm.)

Anywho. I cannot express to you how much I have LOVED my friends being on Spring Break! Best thing about being a teacher- the schedule!!! (Okay, Okay- the kids aren't so bad, either... well... most of them...) I've been looking forward to them being off for what feels like FORever! And I'm already looking forward to their Summer vacation! Anywho- I digress. I missed out on "Park Day" on Monday b/c I was watching Miss Rileyface. I could have braved it and tried to take both kids, I suppose, but that is one adventure I think I'll pass on! And- it was at both kids naptime anyway.

So. Yesterday, I got to run around town w/ Jaime and Zoe. We met up at 10:45ish- battled w/ my carseat (getting it into her van) and headed out to Tempe to drop Hayden off at his dentist appointment. From there we took Zoe and Jude to Peter Piper Pizza downtown to have lunch w/ Jaime's parents. Now. I'm not gunna lie.... what has happened to PPP's?! Why are they always infested w/ the towns finest people? Hmmm... could have been the $5 all you can eat Pizza/Salad buffet? IDK, but the place was packed! Anywho. Next stop was to Hobby Lobby where we got a bunch of supplies to create some favors for our party on Saturday night. Then to Costco to pick up Jaime's glasses- as pictured to the left- (which...sidenote- do you just love how I'm all into giving playbyplays lately?! What in the world?!) and pick up some random stuff for me. We ended our adventurous day by coming back to my place to put the favors together. Su-perb. They turned out way cute (check back after the weekend for a "party blog")!!! My day was exhausting... and would have been perfect, had Jude not gotten NUTZ towards the end... I guess mommy doesn't take him out enough! I passed out at about 9:30pm- which is WAY early for me... I vaguely remember DLo getting McDonald's icecream- which I had asked for earlier in the evening... eating the icecream- then passing right back out! Sad. Times.

Today, Jaime/Zoe and Jude/I met up w/ Amy and her son Jadon at Westgate. We ate at the sandwich place Which wich? (something like that)... and it was pretty delish- kinda pricey for the quantity of food- but still yummy. Jude ate probably a quarter of my sandwich...there was even a point when I was talking and noticed part of my sandwich gone- it was in his chubby little hands... :D Then we went over to the fountain area- were Leslie and her boys Matti and Brody were waiting for us. Zoe and Jadon got in the fountain while Jude and I went to Fossil to get some new shades for mommy.... Brody and Matti played around while Jadon and Zoe continued in the water... I got Jude down to his diapers and was determined to let him have fun in the water...but the fraid-y cat just cried... I'm thinking he has a phobia w/ spraying water... he hated the ocean, hates showers...and now the fountains. So sad. So- instead, Jude played in the grass for a while until it was time to go. Before we left... Kimmy had to rescue Matti's toy from the tree... I wasn't tall enough... but I was clever enough- I threw my shoe until the thing fell down! HAH! After a few quick errands to Michael's and The Children's Place... we finally came home for some R&R... too bad Jude decided not to nap- but he's being surprisingly wonderful! :D

Wonder what tomorrow will bring??? (Although- Mommy may need a day of rest!)

...a walk in the park...

Awww... so. Friday's are probably my favorite days EVER. They always have been... but now that I'm at home w/ Jude... Fridays are the BEST days ever. Fridays are the day that DLo has off.... and... even though there are a million things that we probably should do- like.... fixing the leak we supposedly have in our backyard... or fixing the short in our kitchen light- we'd both rather just spend the day loving on our small little family.

Well. This week has been so beautiful... the weather has been perfect! So we decided to take our little family on a walk to the park. Jude was SO stinkin' cute playing on the playground toys... (which made me cringe a little when I thought of all the icky germs looming- which is funny that I even think about germs... b/c as a teacher, I'd just come to expect germs to be EVERYwhere...but as a mom- germs= bigfatno). Derrick and I had a lot of fun playing w/ him and sliding w/ him (well, dad slide w/ him... mom's derriere is slightly...large) and swinging w/ him.... Jude is growing so quickly...it's hard to believe that soon he'll be begging me to take him to the park... and running around from the monkey bars to the swing. ::sigh- my heart breaks slightly when I think about it::

Here are some pictures of our adventure:

...outtakes...

Haha- So. It's getting increasingly difficult to take pictures of Jude for the month to month thing. For starters, whenever we get the bear in place, Jude will either yank the paper out and crinkle it...or eat the bear...or the bear will fall over. Well... now that he can crawl...well... it's pretty much impossible to keep him still long enough to get everything situated... it's a big big world...and JW just has to explore!!!

Here are some outtakes from yesterday's month2month:

...what. ever....

So. Jude didn't get selected as one of the 10 semi-finalists for Regis and Kelly's Beautiful Baby contest. What. Ever. I'm boycotting them. lol. I guess he was just TOO beautiful. :D

...double digits...

::gasp::

Well. He's 10 months old today. He's a double digit boy. My lil lovebucket is growing up. I can't handle this! So...I had the thought today...I really need to start planning his 1st bday party! What in the world?! I mean. I've been thinking about it since he was born...but now I actually need to start PLANNING. ::sigh:: It's not fair! It's really not- how quickly time flies... Let's see... this past month JW started crawling...pulling himself up on his knees AND all the way up (cutest thing to see him standing in his crib...)... giving momma kisses...laughing at people other than mommy and daddy... hmmm. I think those are the "big" things. He just amazes me every day. He is such a sweet, silly, lovable little munchkin! (::tear::- has it really been ten months?!)

Lord-
It's hard to grasp that ten months have passed since Jude entered our lives. I cannot express how truly blessed I feel to be his mother. He brings me so much joy...makes my heart so full. Thank you for trusting him with my care. I pray that I will be reminded to be patient and loving...even when I am overwhelmed.... God, you are too good to me... Thank you...

...the HAPPIEST place on earth...

Disneyland. ::sigh:: How I heart thee! So... Derrick and I have been having some MAJOR DL withdrawals...after all... it HAD been a whole 15 months since we'd gone last! ::sigh:: So. It all started out when I had this brilliant idea of leaving the boys behind and going w/ two of my BFF's on a girl's trip for my bday, but that wasn't working out so great... so I asked DLo if he was going to take me for my bday (it's free on your bday this year, you know- but you have to register online), and he basically told me "no way"... but about 2 weeks before my bday, he told me that we WERE going! Whohoo! What I didn't know...is that he had some surprises up his sleeve!!!

Thursday-
We woke up at our usual time to feed the lil-big man... I packed and about 10:15am, we hit the road. I was very excited for our roadtrip- which surprisingly, was not our first w/ Jude... nor our second... he's pretty much a roadtrip pro! Anywho. Before getting to our hotel, we had to first make a quick stop to drop off some lights or something for the church to some warehouse... I knew that DLo was going to give me 3 of my 5 surprises... Little did he know... I kinda had figured one of the surprises out... (b/c I'm THAT good). I had kinda figured out that we were staying at the Grand Californian!!! EEEP! But... let me just say- DLo was VERY good at trying to convince me that we were staying at the Crowne Plaza... he EVEN had the address typed out for me to Onstar once we left the warehouse. Sucka. I didn't lead on that I "knew"... I didn't want to ruin the surprise for him if it were true- and I didn't want to feel dumb if I was wrong! Anywho. I was right! DLo booked us a stay at the GC. If you've never ever stayed there- I highly recommend splurging one time and doing it! This was our 2nd stay there... we splurged once before in 2005 for DL's 50th celebration. Aaaaaanyway- While DLo was parking the car- Jude and I went up to the room... I found surprise #2-
and the cutest little bday cake towel thing awaiting me! So fun! Since it was already so late...We decided not to go to the park that evening... but.... Surprise #3 was that DLo got us Annual Passes!!! It ended up being a good deal- cheaper to buy the AP's and book the room then get a 3day hopper for each of us and book the room... whatev- works for me! :D We went down to Downtown Disney and got some takeout from Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and then hit the sack!

Friday-
We got to the park about an hour after it opened (Jude was passed out in the stroller, which was SUPER sad...) and got our Annual Passes...also got our $69 giftcard (b/c if you have tickets already on your bday, you can choose an alternative). There were a LOT of people there for a random Friday in Feb! I guess everyone wanted to celebrate my bday w/ me?! Hmmm.. We just kinda kept walking and walking...until we were by the Haunted Mansion. The line was surprisingly short- compared to every other line we passed, so we decided to ride! I was so excited to take Jude on his first ride...not so much that it was HM...but, whatev! Jude was super cute... I was afraid that he'd start crying in the first little room that you go in- when the lights go out and everyone screams...but he was fascinated by all the peeps! Anywho. We got our grub on at Pizza Port and the headed over to the Buzz Lightyear ride (one of my favorites!!!). We were disappointed though, our picture TOTALLY didn't show up... first time that's ever happened to us- ::boo:: -from there we headed over to California Adventure. On our way to the new Toy Story ride...DLo stopped to shoot some hoops at a carnival game- and made the first shot- winning us an oversized frog! DLo was so excited- it was way way cute! (Also cute b/c I NEVER let him play those things!!!) So then we rode Toy Story- way way WAY fun ride- those Disney Imagineers are so smart! Now...up until this point...the only nap Jude has gotten was the one right as we entered the park... he will NOT go down for a second nap... which is usually no biggie. I've always been amazed at what a sweet spirited child God blessed me with. Well. The boy that was at DLand w/ us...was NOT my boy.
(This picture was 2 seconds before a meltdown)
We didn't have much time before our dinner reservations at Steakhouse 55 @ the DL Hotel (Surprise #4) so, it didn't make sense to stand in line for another ride... when we came to DL last time- I was 5ish months preggers and was DYING to make a BuildaBear for our coming bundle....but DLo squashed my idea.... so... basically- I threw the "bday" card out there and DEMANDED to go to BaB in Downtown Disney to make Jude a bear... which ended up being a dog...

Now... I know he's only 9.5 months old...and that it's mostly fun for me...but... this child was a terror. It didn't matter if we held him, rocked him, twirled him, or what... he was NOT happy. I know every kid has his moments... and we were out and about a LOT more than usual....but typically, the boy is pretty chill... yeah. Not. So. Much. We hurried w/ our Bear/dog selection and went straight to dinner. Now. You know us Logans... we love our food... I just KNEW that once we were seated and I busted out w/ Jude's snack and gave him some of my steak, he would calm down. Nope. I have NEVER had to leave dinner early b/c of Jude. ::sigh:: "Happy Bday, Momma"... There was one point during the day that I looked at Derrick and said that I was going to ship the kid back to AZ.... and then another when I looked at Jude and said- "Don't you know what day it is?! Don't you know where we are?!?!"... haha- welcome to mommyhood, right?

Saturday-
The day was started of at CA (we waited until after Jude's 1st nap to leave- making sure he had at least one solid good nap!!!)- we headed over to ride the Toy Story ride again. On our way- DLo stopped to ride the Maliboomer by himself while Jude and I baked in the sun watched... After TS... we went to the Playhouse Disney show- which I was excited to take Jude to- Jude was SO stinkin' cute. He loved watching the lil' Mickey and friends come out- he loved the lights and the singing.... it was precious! He clapped and smiled... oh- it melted my heart!

Lunch was at Rancho del Zocalo in DL... it was pretty yummy! We were supposed to go to the Blue Bayou (Surprise #5)...but decided not to. We did ride Pirates after lunch. Jude was so precious... he was busy entertaining everyone in line...and then...he passed right out on daddy's shoulder! (DLo LOVED it). He slept during most of the ride- Derrick said that during the first two drops, Jude clung on to his daddy's neck for dear life...all-the-while still asleep! He woke up somewhere during the cannon fights... possibly b/c I screamed "my butt is wet!" We went back to our room afterwards...and took a rest. Then we headed down to the pool.

Apparently, DLo got to witness an awesome experience of an angry dad tossing in some punks shoes into the pool. LOL. Which reminds me...I cannot believe I failed to mention that there was a cheerleading convention or something in Anaheim... and there were a butt TON of cheerleaders (all probably 11-14 year old) EVERYwhere! ::ugh:: We eventually went back to CA to ride Monsters and Toy Story...Jude fell asleep in the stroller, so DLo and I grabbed some dinner at Taste Pilots and walked around. It was a great day!

Sunday-
When you stay at the DL Hotels (and sometimes the "good neighbor" hotels)- you get early admission into the parks. We totally did NOT take advantage of this the previous 2 days. We were planning on leaving after Jude's feeding and then hittin' the beach so that I could take a picture of Jude's nakie bottom to get blown up for his bedroom (he'll thank me when he's older, I'm sure...)...but...Jude decided to wake up at 5am (which was 6am AZ time)... so DLo and I decided to go ahead and go to the park for early admission and hit some of the rides that usually have long lines! We got to the park about 7:30am... we went straight to the Finding Nemo ride. We pretty much walked right on....Jude LOVED watching through the window...he especially loved when we first took off and windows were filled w/ bubbles.
It was sweet.... after about 5 minutes of sitting in daddy's lap, Jude leaned over and requested to sit w/ mommy. I thought that was so sweet and gladly held my boy in my lap... after a minute or so, I noticed that he had his head tilted so that he could look up through the window. I thought to myself... he is SO stinkin' smart!!!.... and then I noticed... hmmm...he's not moving... So... I leaned over...and looked at his precious lil face....asleep! HAHA! He totally passed out literally 2 seconds after transitioning to my lap! Poor kid! Disney just wears him out! We took sleeping JW onto Small World....and then after he woke up, we hit the Dumbo ride. Jude had a lot of fun trying to move the little bar that makes Dumbo go up and down... he never quite moved it... but mommy helped!

Then we went on Peter Pan, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and toured Sleeping Beauty's Castle (which is open again). After a delish breakfast at the Riverbelle Terrace...we finished our Disney adventure by going on the Buzz ride one last time- to get a picture.
Unfortunately- you cannot see Jude in the picture (in the one you can email yourself...not the one I took! lol)! HAHA! So sad! We packed up, fed Jude one last time, then hit the beach. Jude was NOT a fan. He didn't like the sound the waves made...and didn't like when the water came close to us. Being the "mommyoftheyear"... I told him to suckitup- and sat him down on the sad- sans diaper or other clothing- and shot a dozen pictures! Let me tell you... it worked more smoothly in my mind... trying to get sand off your child's "woohoo" is not the most thrilling thing to do...especially knowing that he'll be in a carseat for 6ish hours. ::sigh:: But it all worked out! Jude did a fantastic job on the way home (and to Cali for that matter)... we are SO glad to be back and so blessed to be able to get away every once in a while! I can't wait to go back...maybe... w/o Jude next time! :D

Thanks so much, Derrick, for a wonderful birthday trip. It was an awesome way to ring in my 29th year of life...and I spent it w/ my 2 FAVORITE people on the planet! I love you!
