Hey everyone-
The holiday season is right around the corner... if you are needing/wanting pictures taken, let me know! I only have a few spots left! :)

...toofers...
I'd been suspecting that my son is teething...one b/c it's about that time...two b/c of ALL the drool...and three b/c EVERYthing goes into his mouth. I always look...but know it's too soon...I looked yesterday...and nothing. I looked today...and lookie lookie what mommy found! The beginnings of TWO teeth!
...say 'ello to my lil frin...
Derrick, Jude and I went to dinner at our good friends' house the other night...as we were leaving, I noticed a bug on their window (it was outside on the screen)- and IMMEDIATELY I knew that it was a Praying Mantis. Now. Here is a little fact about Kim that you may not have known...I HATE PRAYING MANTIS'- like WITH the burning passion....I'm afraid of them- they make me nauseous and I cringe whenever I see them. Now...I know that some of you may be thinking...hmmm- I've never even seen a praying mantis before. Consider yourselves lucky. I have seen PLENTY in my lifetime. It's like...they KNOW I don't like them...and thus grace me with their presence. Grrr. As a matter of fact. In the last 2 weeks- this was the FIFTH praying mantis I saw. FIFTH! My parents always have geckos on their window screens- so Derrick asked me "Would you rather it be a gecko?!" Now...I don't like geckos and other bugs. I don't want to touch them or have them in a close vicinity...but I can tolerate them. A praying mantis, however- negative. So...I pretty much acted like the stupidest little girl you can think of...but I have NO shame. It was NOT nice how Perry (one of our friends) kept attacking me like the big green triangle-headed beast. And Anibal took aBOUT 900 pictures of it through the window! LOL....
Anywho-when we got home...we noticed that we had an intruder in our house....
To prove a point- I didn't freak out! (Besides- it was just a lil guy!) If it had been another PM, however...I might have had to just move out of my house!!! Bluck!

...long time no see...
So. It's been awhile! I've seriously sat down to blog several times...but my ADD kicks in and next thing you know, I'm doing laundry or warming bottles or something...(as a matter of fact, I actually just stepped away from the computer for 2 hours before continuing- oy)...
I thought I'd update everyone on our crazy life...let's see...
*Derrick and I went to the Maroon5/Counting Crows concert earlier this month...it was a good concert- M5 is just so awesome live- you know how sometimes you go to a concert and you're like...um, really?! is that REALLY what you sound like?!- M5 is NOT like that- Counting Crows on the otherhand.....whoa- simmahdown on the dramatics buddy! We left 3 songs in- I was grinning and bearing it b/c I though Derrick really wanted to watch...but as soon as he gave me the green light, I was a'runnin! I had this big long blog in my mind during the concert...but too much time has gone by and I've forgotten what I was going to say. Sigh... I also have a video of this chick getting DOWN! but I'll spare you b/c it doesn't bring justice to the hilarity...(totally have a crush on Adam Levine...sigh)
* I threw Derrick a surprise guys night on Friday....I was out w/ some of my girlfriends...and thought that DLo deserved some time w/ da boys. I evited (lol) a bunch of his friends to come over and play poker...it was awesomeness b/c Derrick, the ultra-oblivious hubby he is- was SUPER surprised. His brother Jerrod helped me out in my master planning...meaning- I invited, and he did the rest! Well- Jerrod and his wife, Niki, and our uncle Jeromy were already inside the house waiting for Derrick and the others...well...when Derrick got home, he was on the phone w/ Fernando, in his car in the garage...and Jerrod was wondering what was taking him so long to come inside- and peeked out the door- Derrick happened to look up and see him- and freaked out! LOL. So- although it wasn't the "perfect" surprise- it was still awesome! Unfortunately, Derrick didn't win anything, ratz! JRod was the winner of the evening...and had a trophy shirt to take home (which is super funny since he made it!)... anywho- boys (yeah, right, like they read my blog)- be prepared b/c Derrick THINKS he's having another poker night in a few weeks. You'll get an evite! LOL
* Um...let's see...Jude is a crazy beast...He's been napping really well in his swing?! What?! I know I know- but dood will actually take a decent nap in there...and momma just needs a little break, ya know?! Hopefully I'll get him back to napping in his crib soon...
* Speaking of crib- he seems to like his room better now...we have been sleeping for 6-8hours straight in there...which isn't bad, but I miss the 10hour days of when he was in our room. Sigh.... He's getting better...BUT- for the last few nights, he reFUSES to go to sleep until 11pm+ ?! Ugh. What is going on here?! The other night- I passed out on the couch at like 12:30am...poor Derrick finally got him to bed right before 1am.
* Jude's been a GREAT eater! He's been having a delicious breakfast of formula and rice cereal...and then recently, we started him on Avacados. Laugh. Out. Loud. Homeboy knew the first bite that it wasn't cereal. He made the CUTEST disgusted look- and immediately pushed the food out of his mouth. LOL. But mommy is a persistant one- and now he...tolerates it!
I suppose that's it for now...feeling drained! Maybe I'll go take a nap before Grey's Anatomy starts- EEP!... (PS- totally finished the blog the NEXT day. Sadtimes.)

...smooshie...
So...Yesterday, I had this whole blog in mind...it was going to be my "ohsoangryventingblog"...I had a million and one things I wanted to vent about. I think it's healthy to vent- right?! I mean...not that I don't realize that I have a million and TWO things to be thankful for...but it's good to get your frustrations out!
This morning, I had it all planned out...I was going to write my venting blog today...but then I got to feeding Jude and playing w/ him and snuggling w/ him....and I realized...wow...I am just so blessed. What do I really- REALLY have to complain about?! As I was holding my 1/2 naked son (he had just spit up on himself)- and blowin bubbles on his fat little belly- and watching him give me the biggest, brightest smile...I was overwhelmed with the feeling of being blessed... It's been different being an at home mom- different than anything I've ever done.... and in many ways, it's the hardest job I've ever had...but despite the fact that it can be lonely...or tiring...or scary (especially living off one income!!!)- I can honestly say that I wouldn't change it for the world...even on Jude's crankiest days.
It amazes me how God has this big picture in mind...one we cannot see- cannot fathom....It took us almost 3 years to get pregnant. Those were three of the most heartbreaking years of my life...and I look back...and it would never have worked this way if I'd gotten pregnant way back then. I wouldn't have been able to stay at home- I wouldn't have taken that risk to quit...I wouldn't have started tinkering with photography as an actual "business"...and- as much as I HATED that part of my life...I'm so thankful that each month- God said "no" to a Judester. I look at my boy now...and there is NO doubt in my mind that God is control of his little life (although, I AM still human and get anxious about stupid things- Derrick is good at reminding me).
And then...I just have such an overwhelming amount of love for this little baby...I remember growing up thinking that my parents loved me more than any other parent in the world loved their child- my mom used to say to me "엄마 아빠 너 어떻게 사랑하는지 알아?" which basically means- do you know how much mommy and daddy love you? I think I may have a better understanding of it now....And then...I think- Wow...I love Jude so so so much. I'd do anything for him. Sometimes I look at him and I'm overcome with this emotion- I just LOVE him so much...and it hits me. As much as I love him....the Father loves us so much more. I can't fathom that. And here I was- going to write a venting blog...when this...THIS is my reality.
I'm sure I'll slip up....I'll have an off day where everything sucks...and I forget...but for today...I'm just thankful.

...million bucks...
Oh Jude...disregard my last letter to you...your giggles made it all worth it!
- Love
Mommy
PS- No, I'm not beating him w/ a pillow...I'm standing above him, dropping the pillow, and catching it before (usually) it hits him in the face! I was tidying up the sectional...and randomly did this once- and he laughed at me!!!!!! At ME!!!! I must look like Derrick today b/c he never (other than the one "Tootsie Roll" time) laughs w/me!!!!
"I've Got Another Confession to Make..."
-Foo Fighters...
ed it from my mom...b/c I just KNEW that it was a show she wouldn't want me to watch. I loved when Kelly and Dylan started going out...even if that meant drama between Kelly and Brenda (I, like most of the girls in my class, had a crush on Dylan)...and I was sad when David cheated on Donna. Aaaand I thought the show was lame once they got into college.
know that things have changed since even I was in high school.... but wow. If I thought my mom didn't want me to watch BH90210...she DEF. wouldn't want me to watch this... :( Why does television have to be so smutty? I mean...I see the commercials for "Gossip Girl" and whatnot that I know my 4th grade girls would LOVE to watch...and yet...they are filled with such skanky girls (and boys) that do things and say things that send the message that it's okay to lack morals... Sigh. I think that once Jude is old enough to watch shows other than "Little Einsteins"- Derrick and I may need to get rid of the TV...but then again...I know that's not realistic either. Guess I'll just have to do what MY mom did...and lecture Jude anytime we're in the car together (hee hee hee- although- what good did that do since I snuck around to watch 90210!!!)I will say one thing about the new show...I was super excited to see that Kelly is the guidance counselor at the school...and has a 4year old kid- whose dad is yet to be disclosed...and her baby sister, Erin ("Silver") is all grown up and angsty and in HS...as w/ Andrea's girl...(I was even dorky enough to do the math to see if that was accurate! I know- my head is hung in shame...) It was fun to see part of what the "old gang" is doing... The new cast is okay, I guess...I guess I'm just an old fart now. (I do have to say to casting, however- um...your Naomi girl...yeah- please invest in some lessons on how NOT to make your face so retarded when you are shocked or sad....it's really distracting...and laughable.)
Oh Jude...
Why must you wake up so much in the middle of the night....is your room THAT bad?! Don't you like mommy's decorations she bought for you?! Is it the white walls that are yet to be painted?! Is it the nightlight?! Does it keep you up?! Is it the light on the video camera that mommy uses to watch you throughout the night?! Jude, oh Jude- please keep sleeping...it's okay....mommy will see you in 10 or so hours! And she will love on you and snuggle with you and change your shinner...and it will be glorious....
...and then daddy won't be mad w/ mommy when she's tired and cranky at 1am and can't function enough to go and get you. :)
I love you, Jude! (and I love you, daddy- thanks for getting him last night....)

zzzzzzzzzzz....
Sigh...He did it. Last night. Jude slept in his own room...in his own crib...all night long. This is night 3 (not consecutive) that we have tried...the first night, he was in our room at like 5am...which was mostly all night...the second night, he was in our room at 12am...but he was solid last night!
And...I will not lie and say I had a glorious night of rest...no, no...I was up randomly throughout the night staring at the video monitor to make sure he hadn't pulled the blanket (which...I know is dangerous....but he sleeps REALLY well w/ it...it also helps him to put himself to sleep) over his head.
Any new parents out there...I'd highly recommend the video monitor...it's a well-worth splurge...beats me getting up a million times to check on him- I didn't even have to move out of bed!!!

...fat kids...
...yes...that's what us Logan's call ourselves. Fat Kids. We may be a picky bunch of eaters...but the food we like- we LOVE.
Mr. Jude had his first taste of rice cereal this morning. I know...not too exciting, it's only rice cereal....but it was super funny to watch him eat. He didn't so much know what to think of his first "bite"...he made the cutest face...that I couldn't snap b/c my hands were busy feeding...but then...in true Logan fashion- he ate the entire bowl full...not that it was a large bowl full- like a Tbsp of cereal mixed w/ some formula....but momma was proud of her boy! :)
PS- why is it the MESSIEST thing in the world!!! Three rags and a bib later man!

...Judester Moodster...
Wow. It's been 4 months. FOUR months! Each month amazes me more and more...how does time fly like this?! During the school year, when January rolls around...the end of the year seems like an eternity....but IT's only four months... And here I am today...with a four month old... amazing.

...thank you, mr. miyamoto ...
Hi-la-ri-ty. So...I recently closed my membership to Lifetime Fitness...it was supersad for me...and I didn't want to do it...but let's face it...I haven't gone in a whole year...After I got pregnant w/ Jude...I just kinda stopped going....I had loads of excuses...first it was b/c it was the beginning of the school year...then I got pregnant...then I was ALWAYS tired...then it was the holidays...then...then I was just in the habit of not going....and then I was HUGE...and then I gave birth...
Anywho- So I thought...hmm...I would still like to work out...but it's too hot to go outside and take JW for a walk....so....maybe I'll try to get Wii Fit... Of course they are NOWHERE to be found...well...I happened to be at a Best Buy on Friday...and they told me to come back Sunday at 9am...and they'd have 20!!! Wow. Okay...so I get there at 8:45am only to discover that they don't even OPEN until 10am!!!! What. The. Heck. But luckily- they were handi
ng out tickets...which guaranteed a WF. YES! So Jude and I walked over to Barnes & Noble where I read JW about 5 bored books- yes B-O-R-E-D b/c that's what my son was...bored! ;) And bought him some silly stuffed penguin that he slobbered all over and a new read for me... When I got back to BB at 10am- there was already a line of people waiting to pick up the WF. I was the last to get mine...but got it, I did!
I waited until Derrick got home to open it up and play it...it's mostly a "for Kim" thing anyway...but I thought he'd appreciate me waiting... We did our BMI's and WiiFit Age...we won't go into those gorey details....however...one of the aerobics excersises consists of hula-hooping- which the REAL Kim cannot do....but the Wii Kim ROCKS at- well...the real AND the Wii Derrick SUCKS at it! It is THE funniest thing I have EVER witnessed in my ENTIRE life...I thought I was going to pee my pants...poor Jude- who I was feeding while watching- had to stop drinking b/c I was shaking him so much. I was this close to videotaping it and posting it on here...but I wanted to spare the PVC peeps that should happen upon the blog- I don't want to ruin DLo's image! LOL. It was pretty great, though!
So...Thank you Mr. Miyamoto for transforming Nintendo from a playing card company to a video gaming company...you rock my socks...fat off! :)

cotton candy....
...sweet n'low- let me see that tootsie roll...
So. Derrick and I took Jude to his first wedding back in June....I hadn't timed the trip to the church very well- it fell right at Jude's feeding time. Needless to say- he cried the ENTIRE way there...construction detours and all. There was one point along the way that I turned on the radio and began flipping through my "fav" stations for SOMEthing-ANYthing to distract my boy. Lo and behold...97.5 was playing an oldie but a goodie- Nelly's "Hot in Herre" (btw- that's not a typo! lol). Silence. Jude totally stopped crying...so I lean over to Derrick and say- "whoa, our son is ghetto." Oops. Apparently that is offensive, even to a 1.5 month old...and the waterworks started again....
Recently...I've been kinda "down" (not really) b/c Jude seems to enjoy the presence of his dad- much much much more than when he's w/ me (probably b/c I shove my face in his any chance I get!)... I even blogged the other day how I missed my most anticipated milestone thus far in his life- laughter. Derrick has gotten Jude to giggle probably everyday since then....and everyday I run to hear- only for Jude to stop when I get there... and don't even get me started about ME trying to get Jude to laugh!!!!! He's just not having it! (Even though I'm flailing around just like daddy!!!)
Well...I LOVE giving Jude his bath. Probably one of my favorite things to do w/ Jude- he's just so stinkin' cute and calm and just loves it....and honestly- I just think he has the cutest "shiner" (tushie)... Anywho- so yesterday...daddy was getting the water ready...and I had a lil nakie Jude standing on the bathroom counter looking at the mirror....of course, he's too little to be able to hold himself up for long and soon his legs gave way....when this happened, his bootie kinda swished...so I started singing "cotton candy sweet as gold let me see that tootise roll.." And Jude BUSTED out laughing!!!! YES! I bet you can just picture me now- holding my naked son- in front of the mirror- swishing his shiny around singing ghettofabulous songs!!! But I got him laughing for a good 5 mins! Derrick tried to get it on camera, but by the time everything was set up, 5 more mins of laughing went by...and Jude got a wee bit of stage fright!
It was a mommy's dream though! :) I can't wait for bathtime tomorrow!!!! :)
