...one...
Kate is doing great. She is just the sweetest little baby in the world. She absolutely loves to be cuddled...and I'm convinced that she'd sleep her life away in my arms! I am just so in love with her sweet little noises and her BIG brown eyes.
We've already begun to learn so much about Miss Kate... and while the jury is still out on "who she looks like" (I think she's a nice blend of both kids- but reminds me much more of Jude than Emme)...we couldn't be more blessed! Kate is not a very good sleeper... I mean- she def. sleeps, but she would rather be rocked to sleep than left alone- which is alot like her brother was... why can't all babies be independent (sleepwise) like Emme?! Kate is also not a very good eater! Well... let me rephrase that sentence. Kate does not eat nearly as much as her brother and sister did at her age! BUT- she IS nursing! Kinda. ;) While my milk did not come in (much) with Jude or Emme- my milk HAS come in more with Kate. I still don't think my supply is as much as it needs to be...but it is significantly more than it was with both the other babies... So. Barren Waste Land no more! YES! Kate does a great job...and it's so encouraging to hear a "drinking" sound come from my little lovebucket! She does get a little frantic- whether nursing or bottle feeding... and that stresses me out... but she looks like she's growing- so I'm okay with that! ;) (Which- btw- the most depressing part of having a baby- when the NB close don't fit anymore! That is always when I get the saddest!)
Anywho- I am just so blessed...and although I cannot stop time... I'm enjoying watching my babies grow!
Kate,
One thing mommy wants to teach you in life is how amazing God truly is. When mommy and daddy thought we might only have four people in our family... God thought we should have five... and we were blessed with YOU! Our family would not be complete without our little cuddle bug. Mommy is so proud of how hard you are trying to nurse...and sleep through the night. In your short time with us- you have made our hearts grow so much larger... we ALL love you very very much...
-Mommy

...new baby...
Mema and Grandab were so awesome to watch the kids for us when we were at the hospital... After Kate was born, they brought Jude and Emme to visit us. It was surreal seeing my two big babies...and knowing that Miss Emme is no longer the youngest...
The kids both did great with Kate and seeing me in the hospital bed. Jude has always been a lil loverboy when it comes to babies...and his new baby sister was no different! It was funny because his new thing is to put things in "booboocracks" (booby traps)...so when he saw me in the bed with all the bracelets on...he wanted to know if I was in a booboocrack. ;) Emme...oh Emme...she was very passive- as she can be when she's around alot of people...but don't be fooled! She threw a living fit pretty quick and has been embracing her innerdiva ever since!!! :)
...Kate...
Kate Grace LoganWell. I did it. She's here! SHE! Oh my! I have another girl! <3 I just cannot believe Miss Kate is finally here! And.. I also cannot believe that my days of birthing babies are over. I really really really get sad about it when I think about it too hard... I know- I'm nutz... but I really really really really love giving birth!
By 7am I was starting to feel the pain... I was about 8cm and wasn't really wanting to do anything but lay and breathe through the contractions. I truly think that any woman can do it without an epidural (I mean... they didn't have them way back when, right?!)- and the key is to relax your ENTIRE body and breathe. It helps that Derrick always brings along our ipod and doc and we listen to our "Baby Logan" playlist (which is full of songs that I find inspiring and we've used all 3 times!) It was time for shift change...and my new labor nurse specializes in natural deliveries. I mean... that's fine- I have Tori for all that, but whatever! It was very encouraging to hear everyone tell me how well I was doing and Tori even predicted that I would have a baby by 9:30am! Oh thank goodness- that's only a couple hours away!
Now. I didn't particularly like my doctor to begin with. She's nice...but she's just not my cup of tea. She talks a million miles a minute and has the personality where you can't tell if she's just SUUUUUPER friendly/ditzy... or fake. She doesn't seem very knowledgeable (although I'm sure she is...) and I was annoyed that she never bothered to find out my "birth" history- ie- how big my babies are... how quickly I deliver... you know... only those MINOR details! Geez! So Dr. S comes in... and she immediately starts talking... alot... about nothing... loudly... basically busting up my mojo that I had going on concentrating on the music. Ugh. Robbie had to leave the room for something...Dr. S and the "substitute" labor nurse put an O2 mask on me b/c the baby's heart rate was dropping. This was the point I started mentally flipping out. All the worries of going a week over started flooding in... Will the baby be too big to come out? Will it get stuck? What if they have to break the baby's arm? What if the baby gets stuck and dies? What if they have to do a c-section? .... b/c I had been listening to the heart rate monitor... and I KNEW it was slowing down... and the last time I had an O2 mask on me- the baby was in distress and there was drama (see Jude's birth story).... I'm sweating bullets... BULLETS... I have to take my glasses off b/c they are sweating off my face! ...and instead of listening to the music and calming down and breathing through contractions- I get to hear my doctor's annoying voice. (Tori was next to me so I rolled my eyes and screamed "Shut up!" but no one could understand me with the O2 mask) Dr. S doesn't know it... but I also almost had to rip her arm off... as she kept patting my belly (absentmindedly) as she was talking. I had to yell at her to stop touching me... and it was at THIS point that her and the sub l/d nurse realized that I didn't have an epidural. (Yes... I know.)
When the sub and doc left the room... I asked Tori why I was on an O2 mask... she explained that they were WAY over reacting... that it was not uncommon for the baby's heart rate to dip during a hard contraction but then come back up as the contraction ended- which was our case. Good. I immediately ripped that mask off and threw it across the room. Jerks. ;) Robbie comes back in the room... but I'm still an 8. I'm stuck. Story of my labor life! The "peanut" ball they have me put in between my legs seems to be helping.... (literally- think of two balls fused together at the middle like a peanut!)... and I tell Tori that I feel like I should "poop or push" which is a phrase I used a LOT when I was giving birth to Emme. Robbie suggested that I push just to see what that would do... and... when I did... well- that did the trick for me and I was complete! So... as with both of my other births- I went from stuck (8) to DONE in seconds!
Thankfully, my doctor was still hanging around... b/c she was in the room very quickly. I kept telling her to hurry... HURRY! And she informs me she is... but even w/o my glasses on- I can see that she's not putting her scrubs on NEARLY as quickly as I need... b/c LITERALLY- I refuse to not push... I cannot put my body/mind through that again... and I'm kinda freaking out (internally) b/c the feeling "down there" is all too familiar now... and the memory of NOT pushing Emme out is too fresh. I think Dr. S got the picture that I was going to push- b/c she didn't bother to finish buttoning/tying her scrubs but started trying to break down the bed.... except... she can't. Apparently the beds are "new" and she can't get the bed apart...and Robbie, instead of breaking down the bed for her, is in my face telling me to breath and count and wait to push until the NICU gets there...
...things get blurry for me at this point. I didn't pass out or anything... but things happened WAY fast. I remember them telling me to pull my legs back- and telling them that I couldn't (not that I couldn't, but I needed help)...I remember telling them that I'M PUSHING!!!! And that I could tell that I was crowning... and feeling like someone was tyring to push the baby back in!!! (which I later found out was Tori- she wasn't pushing the baby back in, rather trying to make sure that I didn't rip- which I did) And...then I remember them finally saying to push... and the baby being OUT in that same breath! And then I remember hearing Tori say, "Derrick, look!!!"... and then hearing "IT'S A GIRL!!!!" and then seeing, blindly, a big.black.headofhair!!!!! :)
Derrick looked at me and said "She looks like a Kate"...and although she didn't officially have a name for about an hour... a Kate she was. Kate is perfect. She has the cutest little dimples...the coolest head of dark hair...the smallest lil feet...and the best little cuddles ever. I am blessed. <3

...my big talkers...
Welp... My goodness... am I EVER finding it hard to sit down and blog! I have a few that I'm wanting to write...but you know... I just had another baby! AHHH! :)
Jude and Emme are doing so great! They both love their baby sister and like to help out! Jude is especially helpful...even if I'm nursing! He holds my boob up like it's a bottle! BUAHAHA! It's been awesome! These two lovebuckets are growing so fast...and on one hand I love it... but on the other- it kinda breaks my heart!
Jude is talking so much these days... and he's caught on to some phrases that just makes me giggle! It's still difficult to understand what he says sometimes...but more and more people are able to "get" what he's saying- which is good. During his 3year well check- I discussed with the pediatrician about my concern over his annunciation. The pediatrician suggested, as I already had started, to contact my school district and see if they have speech/preschool services for Jude. So... we've started the evaluation process and are waiting for our first IEP meeting to determine if Jude qualifies for services...and if so, which ones... ...I'm not going to lie... I do have some hesitations and I'm anxious to hear what they have to say at the meeting...and I still have several questions. I've def. seen improvements in him, though... and I hope that the more he tries different phrases and sentences... and the more others talk back with him- the better he'll get! :)
Some of the cutest things he does/says is to sing songs (like Old MacDonald, his ABC's, TV show theme songs... and of course- John Mayer!)...he also loves to pray- and every night he prays over his sister Emme and ALWAYS has to pray for Papa and Hanni!... he reads his books... he tucks in his Mickey doing the ENTIRE night time routine!... He says "QUIET, GUYS!" to just about anyone who is being noisy... and just yesterday- said "Hey Daddy? You wan' sit on couch w/ Jude and watch Caillou?" Aw! My favorite right now is when he says "Filly Mommy!" LOL! So cute!
Emme... my word. Miss Diva herself is talking up a storm too! It's kinda awesome! She uses her "yes" and "no's" accurately... says "all done" and "all gone"... she can tell you what a cow, snake, and tiger say... says "baby nienight?" and then puts her finger to her mouth and says "shhhhhh!"....her favorite work right now might be "MINE!" or "yum yuuuum"- which she says if she wants a snack- and she ALWAYS wants a snack!!! Emme is so sweet and always says "thank you" if you give her something...and will say "bless you" if you sneeze. It's pretty fun watching her blossom...she is learning so much from her brother- which is good AND bad! My favorite thing that she says is "Nnnooooo, shuuuuuure!" Hm. Guess we've said that alot lately, eh?! :)
Wish I could capture these moments forever... time is going too fast. ::sigh::

...Baby Brunch...
I have some AMAZING friends... Seriously... I do! Jaime and Violet got some of my favorite gals together at Mimi's to shower me with some girl time and some much needed diapers! I was so blessed by everyone who came and had a great time giggling and chatting with the ladies! There were def. some people that were missed...but I know they were there in heart! <3

...Vree...
Wow. I am the mother of a 3 year old! What?! When did this happen? It's going by way too fast... WAY too fast. It seems like only yesterday that I was bringing my first baby home from the hospital... and now... I'm getting ready to bring home my THIRD! Just. Wow.
Jude's birthday this year happened to fall on Mother's Day... and can I just say- best.mother's.day.gift.ever. ?! ;) It was a pretty great day... if I say so myself! It started off with a great morning at home... followed by attempting to make it to church on time... hmmm- didn't really happen... BUT we did manage to make it in time for.... LUNCH! Haha. The three of us picked up daddy from church and headed to Hayashi for some yummy teppanyaki. It's always so fun to take the kids there... mostly b/c they eat SO well... but also b/c it's hilarious to watch their reactions to the "show". Jude's not so much a fan of the "fireworks"- as he calls it! My kids are usually REALLY good at restaurants...and thankfully...today was no different. As a matter of fact... a lady sitting at the teppan table next to us was SO impressed with Jude that she gave him a $15 Target giftcard that she had in her purse from Mother's Day (when she found out it was his birthday!)!!!! It was very random...slightly uncomfortable...but so generous and sweet! :) So proud of that boy!
After lunch... we headed home for naps...and then turned around and went back to church! ...but...again- I didn't end up actually IN the service! Instead- Derrick and I hung out in the lobby! I know- totally sadtimes! But it ended up being a fantastic day... I can't believe my baby boy is three- or as Jude says "Vree!". It literally has flown by and seems like only yesterday that I was bringing home my first baby...and now I'm about to have my third child! ::crazytimes::
Birthday Parrrrrrrty
So...I had planned on throwing Jude a Toy Story party this year after I had found some really cool ideas for the cupcakes and other fun TS related stuff... but as I was planning, Jude informed me that he wanted a pirate party. What?! Yup. So I quickly stopped planning a TS party... and began searching for all things pirate. Ugh! There were so many decisions I had to make...Peter Pan themed? Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed? or just pirates? I ended up going w/ a plain pirate theme...and after weeks of looking on etsy for ideas...and going to Hobby Lobby/Party City about a zillion times- the day of the party was finally here. It was Jude's first "friend" party...and I guess all in all it was a success... but let me tell you... I LOVE planning/crafting the party... but I do NOT love hosting it! I swear it's so stressful trying to decide when things should happen...and getting the rhythm of a party rollin! Oy! After the party was all said and done- I informed Jude that he would not be having another party until he was 10... and then I can just take him and a couple friends to the movies! buahah! kidding- kidding!
Enjoy the pix:
These were the cupcakes that I made... spent WAY too much money on gold sprinkles... but I HAD to have everything match my color theme! Had a TON of food... especially b/c DLo ordered too many pizzas...like 6 pizzas too many (we ordered 7 total!)
Had a lot of fun friends come to the party!

The kids enjoyed the playset...it was nice seeing it get some good use! And of course...the boys found the battery-less truck...that Jude pushed around! Oh my! (The other kids found the apples on the apple tree...)
Got these AWESOME shirts for Jude and Emme... LOVE how they turned out. As you can see... Jude had a lot of fun opening his gifts... and the party favors seemed to be a hit too!
