"I've Got Another Confession to Make..."

-Foo Fighters...

So....We're going back in time...little 11 year old Kim....LOVED Beverly Hills, 90210. I mean...I LOVED it. I am a little embarrassed to say...I used to "hide" the fact that I watched it from my mom...b/c I just KNEW that it was a show she wouldn't want me to watch. I loved when Kelly and Dylan started going out...even if that meant drama between Kelly and Brenda (I, like most of the girls in my class, had a crush on Dylan)...and I was sad when David cheated on Donna. Aaaand I thought the show was lame once they got into college.

I was skeptical when I heard that 90210 was coming back...Seriously?! I mean- especially when I heard there was going to be a "Midwest" family moving to the fast paced California lifestyle again...Lame. But...I was secretly also excited to watch...I DVR'd the first episode....ew...and the second... Now...I know the original show didn't depict the realistic life of a high school...and I know that things have changed since even I was in high school.... but wow. If I thought my mom didn't want me to watch BH90210...she DEF. wouldn't want me to watch this... :( Why does television have to be so smutty? I mean...I see the commercials for "Gossip Girl" and whatnot that I know my 4th grade girls would LOVE to watch...and yet...they are filled with such skanky girls (and boys) that do things and say things that send the message that it's okay to lack morals... Sigh. I think that once Jude is old enough to watch shows other than "Little Einsteins"- Derrick and I may need to get rid of the TV...but then again...I know that's not realistic either. Guess I'll just have to do what MY mom did...and lecture Jude anytime we're in the car together (hee hee hee- although- what good did that do since I snuck around to watch 90210!!!)

I will say one thing about the new show...I was super excited to see that Kelly is the guidance counselor at the school...and has a 4year old kid- whose dad is yet to be disclosed...and her baby sister, Erin ("Silver") is all grown up and angsty and in HS...as w/ Andrea's girl...(I was even dorky enough to do the math to see if that was accurate! I know- my head is hung in shame...) It was fun to see part of what the "old gang" is doing... The new cast is okay, I guess...I guess I'm just an old fart now. (I do have to say to casting, however- um...your Naomi girl...yeah- please invest in some lessons on how NOT to make your face so retarded when you are shocked or sad....it's really distracting...and laughable.)

Oh Jude...

Why must you wake up so much in the middle of the night....is your room THAT bad?! Don't you like mommy's decorations she bought for you?! Is it the white walls that are yet to be painted?! Is it the nightlight?! Does it keep you up?! Is it the light on the video camera that mommy uses to watch you throughout the night?! Jude, oh Jude- please keep sleeping...it's okay....mommy will see you in 10 or so hours! And she will love on you and snuggle with you and change your shinner...and it will be glorious....

...and then daddy won't be mad w/ mommy when she's tired and cranky at 1am and can't function enough to go and get you. :)

I love you, Jude! (and I love you, daddy- thanks for getting him last night....)

zzzzzzzzzzz....

Sigh...He did it. Last night. Jude slept in his own room...in his own crib...all night long. This is night 3 (not consecutive) that we have tried...the first night, he was in our room at like 5am...which was mostly all night...the second night, he was in our room at 12am...but he was solid last night!

And...I will not lie and say I had a glorious night of rest...no, no...I was up randomly throughout the night staring at the video monitor to make sure he hadn't pulled the blanket (which...I know is dangerous....but he sleeps REALLY well w/ it...it also helps him to put himself to sleep) over his head.

Any new parents out there...I'd highly recommend the video monitor...it's a well-worth splurge...beats me getting up a million times to check on him- I didn't even have to move out of bed!!!

...fat kids...

...yes...that's what us Logan's call ourselves. Fat Kids. We may be a picky bunch of eaters...but the food we like- we LOVE.

Mr. Jude had his first taste of rice cereal this morning. I know...not too exciting, it's only rice cereal....but it was super funny to watch him eat. He didn't so much know what to think of his first "bite"...he made the cutest face...that I couldn't snap b/c my hands were busy feeding...but then...in true Logan fashion- he ate the entire bowl full...not that it was a large bowl full- like a Tbsp of cereal mixed w/ some formula....but momma was proud of her boy! :)

PS- why is it the MESSIEST thing in the world!!! Three rags and a bib later man!

...Judester Moodster...

Wow. It's been 4 months. FOUR months! Each month amazes me more and more...how does time fly like this?! During the school year, when January rolls around...the end of the year seems like an eternity....but IT's only four months... And here I am today...with a four month old... amazing.

We had a pretty amazing day today. (ew- I sound like Katie Holmes w/ my "amazings"- whatever) Dad and I aren't feeling too great...and dad stayed home from work. It was nice to be at home all sick together! (I know, right?) I love snuggling w/ my boys...even when I feel like my head might explode! :) We also took Jude in for his 4month check up. Are you all ready? (Like you couldn't guess that we have a HUGE kid...)
Head: 43.5cm (80%)
Weight: 19lbs 6oz (95+%)
Height: 28inches (over 100%)

Laugh. Out. Loud. What a huge kid. I mean...seriously?! Our nurse...who was nice, but NO Miss Krystal...basically said...um...we can't really give you a percentile for height...it's way over 100...LOL. I love it! :)

So...our little boy is not so little and is just growing cuter and cuter every day....heck...every second! Tonight is the second night that he will be sleeping in his own room...far far far away from mine...all by himself. I'm ALL KINDS of devastated by this...but I know that it needs to happen eventually...and I guess it's better sooner than later...I just still can't believe that 4 stinkin' months have passed...(is this what it's going to feel like when he graduates HS?) Ugh. I digress....

I never want to forget...
*your slobbery slobbery chin...
*the way you make that gagging sound to indicate you are finished w/ your bottle...
*when you smile when papa says "i love you"...
*your little giggles...
*the way everything goes into your mouth...or eye- whichever it gets to first!...
*your little noises when you sleep...
*the way you cover your face when taking a nap...
*your strong monkey toes...
*the way you stare at your daddy anytime he's in the room...
*your sweet baby neck...
*your sweet tired eyes...
*pingy penguin and the attack of the judester...

Oh little Love...
I feel like I say the same things to you every day...over and over...but you really are mommy's and daddy's little blessing. We cannot imagine life without you and your BIG smile....I thank God every chance I get for trusting us with your precious life....and for allowing us to experience the miracle that you are. I love you Jude William.

...thank you, mr. miyamoto ...

Hi-la-ri-ty. So...I recently closed my membership to Lifetime Fitness...it was supersad for me...and I didn't want to do it...but let's face it...I haven't gone in a whole year...After I got pregnant w/ Jude...I just kinda stopped going....I had loads of excuses...first it was b/c it was the beginning of the school year...then I got pregnant...then I was ALWAYS tired...then it was the holidays...then...then I was just in the habit of not going....and then I was HUGE...and then I gave birth...

Anywho- So I thought...hmm...I would still like to work out...but it's too hot to go outside and take JW for a walk....so....maybe I'll try to get Wii Fit... Of course they are NOWHERE to be found...well...I happened to be at a Best Buy on Friday...and they told me to come back Sunday at 9am...and they'd have 20!!! Wow. Okay...so I get there at 8:45am only to discover that they don't even OPEN until 10am!!!! What. The. Heck. But luckily- they were handing out tickets...which guaranteed a WF. YES! So Jude and I walked over to Barnes & Noble where I read JW about 5 bored books- yes B-O-R-E-D b/c that's what my son was...bored! ;) And bought him some silly stuffed penguin that he slobbered all over and a new read for me... When I got back to BB at 10am- there was already a line of people waiting to pick up the WF. I was the last to get mine...but got it, I did!

I waited until Derrick got home to open it up and play it...it's mostly a "for Kim" thing anyway...but I thought he'd appreciate me waiting... We did our BMI's and WiiFit Age...we won't go into those gorey details....however...one of the aerobics excersises consists of hula-hooping- which the REAL Kim cannot do....but the Wii Kim ROCKS at- well...the real AND the Wii Derrick SUCKS at it! It is THE funniest thing I have EVER witnessed in my ENTIRE life...I thought I was going to pee my pants...poor Jude- who I was feeding while watching- had to stop drinking b/c I was shaking him so much. I was this close to videotaping it and posting it on here...but I wanted to spare the PVC peeps that should happen upon the blog- I don't want to ruin DLo's image! LOL. It was pretty great, though!

So...Thank you Mr. Miyamoto for transforming Nintendo from a playing card company to a video gaming company...you rock my socks...fat off! :)

cotton candy....

...sweet n'low- let me see that tootsie roll...

So. Derrick and I took Jude to his first wedding back in June....I hadn't timed the trip to the church very well- it fell right at Jude's feeding time. Needless to say- he cried the ENTIRE way there...construction detours and all. There was one point along the way that I turned on the radio and began flipping through my "fav" stations for SOMEthing-ANYthing to distract my boy. Lo and behold...97.5 was playing an oldie but a goodie- Nelly's "Hot in Herre" (btw- that's not a typo! lol). Silence. Jude totally stopped crying...so I lean over to Derrick and say- "whoa, our son is ghetto." Oops. Apparently that is offensive, even to a 1.5 month old...and the waterworks started again....

Recently...I've been kinda "down" (not really) b/c Jude seems to enjoy the presence of his dad- much much much more than when he's w/ me (probably b/c I shove my face in his any chance I get!)... I even blogged the other day how I missed my most anticipated milestone thus far in his life- laughter. Derrick has gotten Jude to giggle probably everyday since then....and everyday I run to hear- only for Jude to stop when I get there... and don't even get me started about ME trying to get Jude to laugh!!!!! He's just not having it! (Even though I'm flailing around just like daddy!!!)

Well...I LOVE giving Jude his bath. Probably one of my favorite things to do w/ Jude- he's just so stinkin' cute and calm and just loves it....and honestly- I just think he has the cutest "shiner" (tushie)... Anywho- so yesterday...daddy was getting the water ready...and I had a lil nakie Jude standing on the bathroom counter looking at the mirror....of course, he's too little to be able to hold himself up for long and soon his legs gave way....when this happened, his bootie kinda swished...so I started singing "cotton candy sweet as gold let me see that tootise roll.." And Jude BUSTED out laughing!!!! YES! I bet you can just picture me now- holding my naked son- in front of the mirror- swishing his shiny around singing ghettofabulous songs!!! But I got him laughing for a good 5 mins! Derrick tried to get it on camera, but by the time everything was set up, 5 more mins of laughing went by...and Jude got a wee bit of stage fright!

It was a mommy's dream though! :) I can't wait for bathtime tomorrow!!!! :)
